シェイクスピアってよく引用されるけど、手元のDBで恋のから騒ぎでおなじみのMuch ado aboutを検索したところ、意外や意外０件という結果。adoつながりでWithout further adoを検索すると、それに反してこっちはよく使われているみたい。このニュアンスは、小難しいことはこの辺にして本題に移ろうということだけど、せっかく調べたんで、ドラマの中でどうやって使われているかピックアップしてみましょう。

まずはGilmore Girls、ファッションショー司会の開演の挨拶から。

このシーンは確か、母親のエミリーからチルトンの行事に積極的に参加するよう言われたローレライが、敵討ちとばかりにチャリティのファッションショーを企画しエミリーをモデルに仕立て上げて溜飲を下げようと思ったら、ローレライ自身も親子モデルとしてエミリー共々舞台を歩く羽目になった箇所。このように司会が使うとぴったりの表現かも。

次も同じGilmore Girlsから。スターズハローの街で子供のお遊戯会。太ったダンスの先生（名前失念）が司会で前口上の図。

次はThe Big Bang Theoryから。

これはよく覚えているエピソード。北朝鮮から来た神童キム君にシェルドンの最年少受賞記録が抜かれるというシチュエーション。その子供を学長がシェルドン一同に学食で紹介しているシーンだ。without any further adoを使って滑らかに業績紹介から本人紹介に移っている。

こんな感じで、前口上が長くなった時にぶった切って本題に移るのに使える英語表現Without further adoでした。

Google Books Ngram Viewerだと減少傾向に歯止めがかかってるのが分かりますね。
